The City of Pevely is currently accepting applications for one (1), full-time Administrative Assistant in the Administration Department. The Administrative Assistant is a non-exempt, hourly employee who reports to the City Clerk and the City Administrator.

The Administrative Assistant will perform administrative, receptionist, and support activities for the Administration Department including answering and transferring telephone calls, greeting City Hall visitors, and collecting and distributing mail. This position will handle cash, prepare and complete daily bank deposits, and perform various filing and record keeping tasks.

The Administrative Assistant will accept requests for information, will generate work orders for various City departments, and may serve as a secretary for various City Boards, Committees, or Commissions. This position will perform accounts payable duties including collecting invoices, ensuring invoices are coded correctly, and ensuring invoices are paid on time. The tasks listed are not exhaustive and the Administrative Assistant will be expected to perform other tasks as assigned.

Required qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, a valid Missouri Driver’s License, proficiency with standard modern office equipment, cash handling experience, and customer service experience. Additional desired qualifications include accounts payable experience and experience working for a governmental entity.

The City of Pevely is currently accepting applications for (1) Deputy City Clerk. The Deputy City Clerk is a non-exempt, hourly employee who reports to the City Clerk.

The Deputy City Clerk will provide support to the City Clerk and the Administration Department and will assume the duties of the City Clerk in his or her absence. This position will assist with assembling the packets for the Board of Aldermen meetings.

The Deputy City Clerk will assist with the completion of various human resource functions including processing weekly payroll, maintaining payroll records, and collecting paperwork from new hires. This position may coordinate the City’s employee health insurance program.

The Deputy City Clerk will perform various filing and record keeping tasks, may assist with accounts payable and receivable, and may serve as a secretary for various City Boards, Committees, or Commissions. This position may provide backup support to the Administrative Assistant, develop and maintain forms and flyers, and perform other tasks as assigned.

Required qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, a valid Missouri Driver’s License, previous clerical or office experience, and computer proficiency. Additional desired qualifications include an Associate’s degree or higher and human resource experience.
